Prelude Part 1
Part 2
Rajiv was sure that it was Kavya's voice but before he could react the line went dead. He called on Kavya's mobile but it was switched off. He tried the land-line too but no one picked it up. He called up Amay and asked him to reach his house ASAP. He hurriedly got into his car and drove towards home but it being a peak hour he was stuck in the jam-packed road. He got down from his car and ran as fast as he could. Till the time he reached home, police vans, ambulance and a large crowd had gathered at his residence.
He struggled to get into his house. Policemen were searching the house collecting evidences, taking fingerprints, noting down the details and discussing the possible theories related with the murder. It was then that he saw her. Her once beautiful body, lay lifeless soaked in blood, which oozed out of her bullet wounds. Rajiv couldn't control himself. He couldn't believe that the girl whom he loved the most will now be alive only in his memories. He couldn't control his tears. His whole world had just crashed.
Police sent the body for postmortem. Just then Amay and Meera walked in. They were shocked at the sight. Amay rushed to Rajiv and hugged him. Rajiv was inconsolable. He kept crying calling out Kavya again and again.
Police started with their interrogation. Knowing the background of Rajiv, police suspected it to be a case of personal animosity.
"Do you suspect anyone, Mr.Rajiv?", asked Inspector Keshav
"No...I don't know why would anyone want to kill Kavya! She never got into fights. She was a cheerful person, always helping others in their needs.", answered Rajiv, trying to control his tears
"Look Mr. Rajiv, when we came here the door was open which indicates a friendly entry. Moreover we found two tea cups on the table which obviously means that Kavya knew her attacker very well or might be there was someone else who was a witness to this crime. We will soon find out the culprit. We will keep you updated regarding the case. As of now we take your leave", Said Inspector
The policemen left so did the crowd. Amay dropped Meera home and came back to take care of Rajiv.
That night the two of them sat in the balcony amidst the silence of the night.
Amay didn't knew how to comfort Rajiv because no matter what he said his words will fall short of providing him any comfort. He knew Kavya was Rajiv's life but he also knew something which Rajiv didn't had a clue about and he wished it remained like that only.
