Beetein Pal

Wo ghar yaad aata hai mujhe,
jahan beeta tha apna bachpan,
wo aangan jahan saathiyo sang hum the khele,
wo khilkhilati hassi goonjti hai in kaano mein,
yaad dilati hai un natkhat palo ki,
jab hum sab saath the,
haatho mein haath liye chalte the,
thodi shaitani, thodi naadani kiya karte the,
dosti ka matlab nahi jaante the,
par dosti nibhane ke vaade kiya karte the,
ek dusre se ladte the,
lekin ek dusre par jaan bhi chidakte the,
bachpan ki naadani na jaane kahan kho gayi,
na jaane kaise hum mein ye doori aa gayi,
jis dosti ki hum kasme khate the,
aaj us dost ke liye hi waqt nahi,
vyast hai sab apne jeevan mein,
karne khushi ka dikhawa,
par dil ko aaj bhi wo ghar yaad aata hai,
jahan beeta tha apna bachpan...

English Translation:

I still miss that home,
where we spent our childhood,
that veranda where we played,
that laughter still lingers in my ears,
which makes me remember those mischievous moments,
in which we were together,
hand in hand we use to walk,
used to be naughty yet innocent,
we didn't knew what friendship meant,
yet we promised to be friends-forever,
we used to fight with each other,
yet loved each other more than anything,
don't know where that innocence got lost,
and when the distance crept in,
the friendship on which we used to swear on,
today we don't even have time for that friend,
everyone's busy in their lives,
pretending to be happy,
but the heart still misses that home,
where we spent our childhood...

Chalo ek waada karte hain hum,
Aao is pal ko jee lete hain,
Pal yeh khaas hai, inhe jaane na do,
Hum inhe yahin rok lete hain.

Roya hoon mein bhi,
Aur thoda tum bhi,
Aao mil ke in aansuo ko,
Ek hassi mein badal de.

Aao thaam le hum haath,
Aur chal pade dhundne,
Apna woh kaarwan,
Hamara woh sapno ka jahaan.

Dhundni toh bas wo ek kashti hai,
Us kinare ki aur chalne ke liye,
Manzil toh apna daaman failaye khadi hai,
Hamare swagat ke liye.

Kuch kaali raatein bhi hongi,
Aur kabhi ujaala bhi hoga,
Haunsle jo dagmagaye kabhi,
Mere sahara bhi hoga.

Jhuke jo hum kabhi toh kya,
In ufanti lehro se,
Na darr zara kabhi yaha,
Saath tere main jo hoon khada.

English Translation:

Let us promise one thing,
to live this moment completely,
this moment is precious,
don't let it go,
let us just pause it here.

I have cried,
and so have you,
let us now change,
the tears into smiles.

Let us hold hands,
and embark on our journey,
to find that power,
that leads us to the world of our dreams.

We just have to search a medium,
to reach that shore,
the destination is standing there happily,
preparing for our welcome.

There will be some darkness of night,
yet the light of morning will come,
if ever your strength gives away,
you'll have my shoulder to lean on.

So what if we get washed away,
by the tides,
you don't have to worry,
because I'll be there to take you safely to the shore.

Love Conquers All

They sat at the edge of the roof and watched the cops control the crowd which went berserk seeing their lifeless bodies lying soaked in blood.

For them, it was Love.
For society, it was a Sin.

They smiled because now they were together in a world where love was not considered as a sin.

Wishlist Wednesday - Final One

THE SECRET WISH LIST is the latest offering by Preeti Shenoy. Going by its reviews, one can surely say that it is a bestseller. Its a book which everyone will connect to and enjoy reading, even if they are not an avid reader! :)

Preeti is hosting a writing prompt "Wishlist Wednesday" on her blog justamotheroftwo.blogspot.in

And with this last prompt, the "Wishlist Wednesdays" prompt comes to an end. Hope you come up with more such interesting prompts, Preeti. Wish you all the success in life :)

This week's prompt is
"I wish i could be like ________ (name of the person). This person is special because......"

I wish i could be like my cousin brother, Vimal. Ever since i have gained my senses, HE has been my definition of a brother. We both are single child, and since childhood we have been there for each other. The best thing about our relationship is that we have never fought with each other (except one occasion when he scolded me), though we have had our share of pillow fights :D

He has been there for me since childhood, to take care of me in school, to share his lunch with me, to protect me when some classmate said something to me in school, to be a partner in crime in all the mischievous things we did, playing computer games (meant for boys) with me (which i still don't know how to play, though i am an expert in crashing planes, bikes, cars etc.).

This person is special because I have seen him struggle since childhood, but despite that he has been focused and determined to get what he wants and whatever he has achieved in life so far, is because of his hard work. Today when i see him become a successful person, I just wish that someday I'll also be as focused and hardworking as him, even if i become 1% of what he is, I'll be satisfied! I am proud of him. And I'll always be thankful to God for giving me the best brother in the world. And i know, no matter what happens, whether someone supports me in life or not, there will be one person who'll always be with me and that would be him. :)

"There's no other love like the love for a brother.
There's no other love like the love from a brother"

Wishlist Wednesday - 6

THE SECRET WISH LIST is the latest offering by Preeti Shenoy. Going by its reviews, one can surely say that it is a bestseller. Its a book which everyone will connect to and enjoy reading, even if they are not an avid reader! :)

Preeti is hosting a writing prompt "Wishlist Wednesday" on her blog justamotheroftwo.blogspot.in

This post is in response to this week's prompt which is
"I wish i could touch......"

I wish i could touch someone's life in a positive way

so that :

i can make them laugh when they are not able to find their smile.

i can motivate them when they get tired of fighting their battle in life.

i can make them feel good about themselves when everyone else is busy finding faults in them.

i can wipe away their tears which block the view of happiness standing in front of them.

i can help them find the meaning of their life.

i can give them a reason to live.

i can give them reason to carry on.

i can give them a reason for not giving up.

I wish i am able to touch someone's life in such a way, that even if there comes a day when i am no longer in their lives, they'll remember me and my words and find the strength to carry on with their lives happily.

And that day the purpose of my life would be fulfilled because as Albert Einstein said :

"only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile" :)
