Wishlist Wednesday - 3

This post is in response to the creative prompt "Wishlist Wednesday", hosted by renowned author Preeti Shenoy on her blog justamotheroftwo.blogspot.in. Her latest book has been released and going by the reviews, i feel it's a must-read for all readers specially the fans of Preeti Shenoy.

The prompt for this week is "The one thing that i wish everyone would learn is.."

We live in a society where,
  • We crave for a son, daughters are treated as a burden.
  • We allow sons to go out at night but our daughters should be home before 6pm.
  • We tell our daughters how to dress, how to talk, whom to be friends with but we never tell our sons to respect women
  • We all want a sister, girlfriend, wife, mother but we don't want a daughter
  • We pray to Goddess Durga to protect us, we pray to Goddess Laxmi to bless us with money and prosperity, We pray to Goddess Saraswati to give us knowledge BUT we don't want a girl child.
  • A single mom is looked down upon but a single dad is showered with praises
  • A woman is robbed of her dignity and fingers are still pointed at her not at the man who committed the crime
  • A daughter is not allowed to live her dreams but a son gets everything without even asking
  • The decisions are taken by man and woman is bound to follow it, if she doesn't, she is punished.

and so the list goes on and on and on...
The one thing that i wish everyone would learn is to treat man and woman as equals

It's high time that society starts giving woman the place that they deserve. We are in an era where man and woman are equals and they should be treated as equals. Today's woman not only manages home but also goes out and work. She is independent and has a voice of her own. People really need to change their mindsets. We should stop discriminating between a son and daughter. There is nothing which a son can do and a daughter cannot. And lastly DAUGHTERS ARE NOT A BURDEN. They love you and care for you selflessly. They care for you when your own son disowns you.

I am a GIRL and I am a SINGLE CHILD.
This is something which i am proud of. I am proud of my parents. I am proud of the fact that at a time when the whole society was/is busy in killing girls in mother's womb, they went ahead and gave birth to me. They never treated me as a load. The are proud of me and i wish i continue to make them proud.

A man might be stronger than woman physically but mentally and emotionally a woman has much more strength than a man can even imagine.

This is one song which i absolutely love.
Composed by Vishal Bharadwaj and sung by Master Saleem, this song is an ode
to the multi-faceted personality of a woman.
In this male dominated society lets not forget the contribution made by woman in our lives.

Wish that came true :)

Some wishes when fulfilled gives you so much joy that can't be expressed in words.
My one wish that came true and gave me immense joy was when i got my best friend back.

I spent two years wondering what went wrong between us, why she was angry with me..i blamed myself that maybe i had done something wrong. But in these 2 years all i wished was that for once she came and talked to me so that we could sort out things. Even in those two years, she used to wish me on my birthday, or when my semester results were announced but never for once she came and talked to me personally. I felt bad, real bad not only because i had lost my best friend but because i knew that she knew, i being an introvert would never be able to talk to her and despite that she never took the first step towards mending our relation. I used to cry on my birthdays, i used to cry whenever her topic came, i just wished she knew how much she mattered to me. I hoped that someday we will be friends like before. I missed her, i missed the sandwiches she used to make for me, i used to miss all the crazy things we did. I wanted to go and confront her but when i saw that she was happy with her other friends, i just couldn't gather the courage to spoil her happiness.

But life surprises you with something good when you least expect it. Two years later when college ended, i messaged her and poured my heart out, and the funny thing was she was never angry with me!! All these years she too wanted to talk to me, she too wanted to end every misunderstanding, she too suffered as i did, she too wished that i talk to her just once! And if hadn't messaged her that day , maybe i would have never found out the truth. If i would have gathered the courage before, may be we would have never grown apart in the first place!
We lost two years of our beautiful friendship and that too because of a stupid misunderstanding by a third person!! The day i learned the truth i was on seventh cloud!! My best friend was back in my life..but yeah the two years we lost changed the equation we had..but it doesn't take much time for two best friends to bounce back and be crazy like before ;)

"when destiny forgets to tie some people in blood relations, it corrects its mistake by making them great friends"

Sometimes in life, you reach a point where some misunderstandings ruin your relationship with people who mean the world to you and the most frustrating part is when you don't even know the reason why you grew apart.

It just happens out of the blue. Suddenly one day, two best friends decide to stop talking to each other. Why it happened? How it happened? No one knows. Though they both still care for each other. They feel happy when something good happens in other person's life, they wish each other on birthdays, but still they don't have the courage to go and talk to that person. What is it that stops them?
Ego? Friendship and ego don't go hand in hand..
Fear of not being understood? Maybe..

They spend all their time thinking about each other, cry their nights away, fight with God as to why he made them best friends-turned-strangers; without realizing that everything can be sorted out if just for once they sit face-to-face and talk. You realize the real worth of a person when that person is no longer a part of your life. You realize how much he/she means to you when you spend night after night just wishing for them to be back.

Life gave me a second chance but not everyone is that lucky. Never ever let go of a relationship due to misunderstandings. Talk, fight, scream, cry.. but don't just let it go so easily.

Wishes - Your best friends for life

"Har kisi ko mukammal jahan nahi milta,
kisi ko zameen, kisi ko aasman nahi milta.." - silsila

Everyone does not get everything in life. May be that's why wishes never end. Everyone has wishes not one, not two but innumerable. Be it a millionaire or a beggar, wishes don't differentiate between rich and poor. Wishlists just keeps on increasing, even if you have achieved one wish, a new wish comes up to take its place. And we humans survive more on wishes rather than oxygen!!
But on second thoughts if you don't have a wish, your life turns out to be quite boring as then you won't have anything to look forward to.

"The Secret Wishlist" is the latest offering by the renowned author Preeti Shenoy and i am sure people are going to love this novel just like the previous ones. She is hosting a creative prompt "Wishlist Wednesdays" and the prompt for this week is
"the three things i badly wish i could have are..." which made me thinking about my wishes.

What are my wishes?  Though three wishes are too less, but the things i badly wish i could have are:

1. My life - I want my life back!! I wish i could live my life on my own terms without bothering about what others feel, what society thinks, what is right, what is wrong, what should i do, what i should not do, etc etc. It is my life and i should decide how to live it, no matter whether the outcome is positive or negative, at the end of the day I'll have the experience. If i won't make mistakes now then how will i grow! Its a long battle. *sigh*

2. A mini-library - With so many novels in my room i will need a library soon or else i would have to sleep outside!! :D

3. Mind Reader - Wish i could read minds, life would have been less complicated but much more interesting. Imagine people being extra sweet to you and you can read exactly whats going on in their head! ;) :D

Wishes reminds me of this dialogue from the movie Anjaana Anjaani:
woh wish hi kya jo aasan ho,
woh wish hi kya jo aasan ho,
jise paane mein na ho thodi si ladai,
mile toh lage kuch hai paya,
warna zindagi toh humne bas yun hi bitayi..

P.S. I wish everyone's wishes come true :)

The Story Untold

She was young and he was old
there was a story untold..

She laughed and enjoyed her life,
unaware of the impending danger
innocently believed in everything,
like a child who loves everyone
unaware of the complexities of life,
but one day her belief went down the drain
when he tried to use her for his gain,
she was afraid to find
the person whom she trusted
was actually a monster in disguise,
she knew what he did was wrong
but couldn't find the courage to remove his mask,
she cursed him all day all night long
but she didn't knew whatever happened would stay with her for long.

She was young and he was old
there was a story untold..

She grew up and started living again,
but the memory of that day was etched in her brain,
she tried to forget but couldn't succeed,
but she had the strength to move on and so she did.

She was young and he was old
there was a story untold..

One day she met a boy,
and fell in love or so she thought,
they laughed, cried and fought
but the love kept them together,
she told him the story untold,
he was furious, wanted a revenge
from the monster who did wrong,
she said to forget it and lets move on.

Time flew and days passed,
she realized he didn't understand her
even after knowing the truth,
he did things which made her come face to face with her past,
her belief once again shattered
and she grew apart,
she cursed that monster
who ruined her life,
and murdered her soul,
she breathes but does not live
smiles but is not happy,
trusts but is scared
for history may repeat itself,
she just sits and
waits for the justice to be done..

She was young and he was old
and the story has now been told..

Kuch baatein ankahi
dil mein hai chupi
kehna bhi na chahu par chup bhi na reh paun
beetein pal lauta de koi mujhe
mera woh bachpan jo chin gaya
wo pyar jo mujhe na mila
kyu hai sab mujhse roothe huye
yeh hai mera dosh ya hai kismat ka koi khel
jo beshumar dosto mein bhi ek dost na mila
pyar ki huyi barish par pyar na mila
udaasi ki bheed mein
khushiyan kho gayi
ye duniya na jaane kab itni matlabi jo ho gayi..

English Translation:

Some words unsaid,
remain hidden inside my heart,
don't want to say them yet can't hide them,
i long for the moments gone by,
that childhood which i lost,
that love which i didn't get,
why is everyone upset with me,
have i done something wrong or is it destiny playing its game?
how come i haven't got a single friend among the thousands?
how come i didn't got love when love is all around me?
in this gloomy world,
my happiness got lost,
don't know when world turned out to be so selfish..

P.S. Completed two beautiful years in the blogging world.. :) Time flies so fast!!

Invincible Love

Read Prelude, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4

Part 5 (Concluding Part)

Arnav went in to see what was taking Kanishka so long to come back. He saw her sitting on the floor shocked.

"Tashu? What happened?"
"Tashu?"
"Say something kya hua?"

"Vik...Vikrant...Accident...", was all she managed to say and she started crying..
"What? Where is he? Stop crying Tashu...”
"Apollo hospital...”, answered Kanishka
"Let’s go. Nothing will happen to him. He will be alright", assured Arnav and they both rushed to the hospital.

Vikrant was in I.C.U.

From the initial investigations it was found to be a case of hit and run as Vikrant's car was badly damaged from the rear end. There were no eye witnesses which made the case more difficult.

Arnav and Kanishka reached the hospital.

"Doctor, how is vikrant? Is he alright?", inquired Kanishka
"Ms. Sharma, Vikrant is in I.C.U. He has got severe head injuries and a lot of blood has been lost. I am sorry but we can’t say anything right now. Next 24 hours are very crucial for him. If he survives that, we would still have some hope.", told the doctor
"Please doctor, save my husband. Please.", She pleaded with the doctor
"We'll try our best", said the doctor

Arnav took her outside and brought water for her.
Everything was fine till morning. They both had been so happy together. Their love grew stronger and stronger with each passing day. She used to thank her stars that she got such a loving and supporting husband.

Vikrant had been planning from past two weeks to make this day special for her. But now he lay in the hospital bed, fighting for his life.

Kanishka felt her world tearing apart. All she wanted was her Vikrant back. She prayed and hoped that Vikrant gets through the next 24 hours.

Kanishka thought her prayers had been answered, when the doctors told her about the improvement in Vikrant's condition. But her happiness was short lived. Vikrant couldnt survive till morning.

Kanishka was devastated. Vikrant was no more. She couldn't come in terms with Vikrant's death. She refused to believe that he had left her forever.

"Vikrant, you know I don't like such pranks. Please get up. Look what these people are saying. They are saying you won't come back. Tell them that you are alive. You can’t go; you promised me that you won’t go. Get up Vik", she shouted

Arnav tried to console her and took her home.

Kanishka tried hard to accept the reality, the reality that her Vikrant had gone, but she couldn't. She found him in every corner of the house. His memories became the decors of their house. She found his memories everywhere she looked,

in the kitchen- when he used to make her favorite food, and she used to sit and stare him,

on the couch- where they used to have small fights over the TV remote and eventually they would fall asleep in each other’s arms,

in the bedroom- which was the witness to their ever increasing love,

at the entrance door- where Vikrant used to kiss her forehead, every day before leaving for work

She broke down. How can she ever forget Vikrant when every single thing reminded her of his presence! His memories made it more difficult for her to come out of this shock. But she knew she had to move on. Vikrant always wanted her to be happy. And she would never let him down. She had to move on just for the sake of Vikrant.

Two weeks later...

"Tashu, I want to tell you something", said Arnav
"I am not in a mood to talk Arnav, please leave me alone.", said Kanishka
"It’s something very important. It’s about Vikrant.", continued Arnav
"What do you want to talk about Vikrant?", inquired Kanishka
"Tashu I .. I lied to you.", confessed Arnav
"Lied? About what?", asked Kanishka
"I wasn't a colleague of Vikrant. We never worked for the same company.", said Arnav
"Then how did you knew him? Why did you lie to me?", asked Kanishka
"I lied because I couldn't gather the courage to tell you the truth. I couldn't tell you that I killed your husband", said Arnav

Kanishka was shocked.

"You? What did you say? You...You killed my Vikrant?? How could you? How could you do this to me Arnav? You didn't even bother to tell me that Vikrant has met with an accident? He was my husband damn it!"
"Get out of my house right now!", said Kanishka angrily
"Tashu, please listen to me once", pleaded Arnav
"I don't want to listen to anything Arnav. Just get out! And don't you ever come back again. I don't want to see you ever”, shouted Kanishka and stormed out of the room.

She went into her room and locked up herself.
She hated herself for spending time with Vikrant's killer while he was fighting for his life in the hospital!
She hated herself for loving Arnav.
And more than that, she hated Arnav now.

The person, who taught her the meaning of love, was the same person who snatched away her love.

That was the last time Kanishka ever saw Arnav. She wanted to punish him for what he had done. She told Inspector Rohit about what Arnav said, but Arnav couldn't be tracked.

After 6 months Kanishka received a call from Inspector Rohit. He told her that they have found Arnav and asked her to come to the police station.

"Ms. Sharma, Arnav has committed suicide. We recovered his body from his apartment today morning. In his suicide note he has accepted that he was responsible for Vikrant's accident.

He left this note for you.

Kanishka read the note

Kanishka,
Tashu, I am sorry.
I am sorry for snatching away Vikrant from you. I know I have hurt you a lot. And I know my sorry won't give you your Vikrant back but I want you to know what exactly happened.

That day I was the one who was driving the car. The road was slippery due to rains, I couldn't control the car and it collided with Vikrant's car. I went to help him and rushed him to the hospital. On our way to the hospital he asked me to deliver those flowers to his wife as it was their anniversary. I promised him that I will do that. I tried to contact his family members and that’s when I saw your number and caller ID in his cell phone. I was shocked to know that Vikrant was your husband. I called you up to inform you about his accident but couldn't say anything. I admitted him to the hospital. I got your address from his diary and sent you those flowers.

Kanishka couldn't control her tears. It was as if she was living all those dreaded moments again.

I always wanted you to be happy Tashu. I never knew that I'll be the one to snatch away your happiness.  I want to confess one more truth. I have always loved you Tashu, from the college days itself. I couldn't gather the courage to tell you at that time but now when i am ending my life, I want you to know this truth. You remember you asked me why I didn't try to find you? It was because I was hurt to see you with someone else. I never knew that destiny will be so cruel to me and I'll meet you in such circumstances. I know when you got to know that I was responsible for Vikrant's accident, you wanted to punish me. I can’t live with this guilt anymore. I can’t live anymore, knowing the fact that I am responsible for your tears, for the tears of that girl whom I loved the most. I can bear anything except your hatred. Please forgive me Tashu. I am sorry...
Arnav

What an ironical situation it was. One part of Kanishka was sad to lose her first love, her friend, a friend who loved her and the other part of Kanishka was happy that justice has been done to Vikrant. She forgave Arnav.

Two men who loved her immensely were no more with her. Arnav, the one taught her about love and Vikrant, who taught her how to love.

Vikrant and Arnav are still alive in Kanishka's heart. Though she has moved on with her life, she can never ever forget them.

"If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on, is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die but real love is forever"

                            ~ The End ~

"tere honthon ke kisi kone mein,
hassi ki tarah main mehfuz hoon.."

Invincible Love

Part 4

Vikrant was a successful engineer working for a leading IT company. At an age of 25, when most of the people are confused about their life and career, Vikrant had scaled new heights of success. He had everything he wanted - a good job in one of the leading company's of the country, a beautiful and loving wife and money to provide enough luxuries to the love of his life. He was the most popular guy in his office not only because of his brains but for his looks too. He might have been termed as the "Most Eligible Bachelor”, had he not got married to Kanishka.

Kanishka was dumbfounded when she saw Arnav. Numerous questions filled her mind but she wasn't able to say anything. Arnav, sensing her surprise, broke the awkward silence.

"Wont you let me in?", winked Arnav
"Oh! Yes yes come in. I am so surprised to see you here. How did you know my address? And these flowers? Ye tumne bheje hai?”, Kanishka fired series of questions at Arnav
"Relax Tashu relax! Main kahan bhaga ja raha hun, I’ll answer all your questions", assured Arnav
"I am so sorry, I really did not expect you!", Kanishka said embarrassed.

Kanishka went to the kitchen and brought tea and some snacks while Arnav made himself comfortable in the house.

Over the cup of tea they talked about their college days while Arnav updated Kanishka about their other friends.

"So...What brings you here?", Kanishka asked
"Your husband", joked Arnav
"My husband? How do you know Vikrant?", Kanishka inquired
"Well, we both work for the same company. I recently got transferred here and that's how i met him. I didn't knew that he was your Vikrant till I saw your photograph on his table. He told me it’s your anniversary today so we both planned to surprise you and i guess we both succeeded in that", smiled Arnav
"Oh so this was the surprise Vikrant was talking about", Kanishka said
"I think so. And the flowers that you were talking about, yes those were sent by Vikrant, and i only asked him to write Tashu instead of Kanishka", answered Arnav

"Waise tell me something Tashu, why did you just disappeared after the farewell party? I called you so many times but you never attended my calls and eventually you changed your number. Why did you break off all the contacts with your friends? And with me?", asked Arnav

Kanishka didn't knew what to answer. How can she tell him that she did that because she loved him! No, she can’t do this. And now that Arnav and Vikrant are friends, telling the truth to Arnav will spoil everything. Moreover she loved Vikrant and was happy with him.

"I never really had any friends in college, Arnav. I knew that once the college is over no one will bother to call me or text me. And that's what exactly happened. So I thought it’s better to move on with life and besides I got engaged soon after my graduation.", answered Kanishka

"You never took me as your friend? Haina?", Arnav asked

"I did, and I still do. But you were so busy in your life that I thought maybe you didn't consider me your friend. In all these years, you didn't even try to find out where I was.", accused Kanishka

"Okay okay. I am sorry. You know how I was at that time, but of all my friends I missed you the most. Sachi. And now that I have found you, I will try my best not to lose you again.", said Arnav

"You will always be a lazy guy", Kanishka smiled

A phone call interrupted their conversation.

Kanishka rushed to the living room to attend the call.

"Hello"
"Hello. Is this Vikrant Sharma's residence?"
"Yes"
"May I know who am I talking to?"
"I am his wife, Kanishka, but who are you?"
"Ma'am I am Inspector Rohit. I am sorry to inform you that your husband has met with an accident and he has been admitted to Apollo hospital. He is in a very serious condition. Please reach there as soon as possible."

The receiver fell from her hand.

"Hello? Hello? Ms. Sharma? Hello?"

The line got disconnected.

Kanishka felt the ground beneath her move. She felt numb. She was too shocked to react.

Invincible Love

Read Prelude , Part 1 and Part 2

Part 3

She again disconnected the call and tried calling Vikrant.

"The number you are trying to call is currently switched off"
Kanishka was surprised. Vikrant never used to switch off his phone. She stood there staring at the card confused. She sent him a text asking him to call her as soon as possible.

She glanced at the clock. It was 6 p.m. She hurried to the kitchen and started preparing his favorite dishes. She finished the chores till 7:30 p.m. and went to freshen-up and quickly slipped into the turquoise colored saree which Vikrant had gifted her on her birthday.

She checked her phone and saw 5 missed calls by the same unknown number and wondered why this unknown number was calling her again and again.

"Who is this caller? Should i call back? It might be an important call", she thought.

She called back on that number but her call wasn't received. She decided to attend the call next time around. She waited for the phone to ring but it didn't.

"May be I am thinking too much. It was just another call, or a wrong number perhaps", she told herself.

She diverted her mind from the phone call towards Vikrant and remembered how he had gate crashed her farewell function and proposed her for marriage in front of all the teachers and hundreds of students.

It came as a surprise to her, she had no clue that Vikrant was planning to do something like this. Though she was in a relation with Vikrant but she had never thought of marriage. She was too young for marriage, after-all she was just 21. She would have rubbed it off as an out-of-love incident but the way it all happened, the way he proposed her, it happened so fast that all she could say was "yes".
She still doesn't know what made her say yes to Vikrant, that too at such a time when she was finding it too hard to let go Arnav.

"May be I had accepted the reality that I would never be able to make Arnav mine. Or it may be that I realized that I loved Vikrant too much", she smiled to herself.

Just then the door bell rang, startling her. Thinking it to be Vikrant she rushed and opened the door but was shocked to find Arnav standing in front of her..

Invincible Love

Read Prelude and Part 1

Part 2

Soon her dilemma ended when she got to know through some mutual friends that Arnav is committed. She felt betrayed that even after being such good friends Arnav didn't trust her enough to let her know about his life or rather he didn't want her to know. She felt like a fool to have loved him and almost risked her own relationship for him. But deep down she knew it was all her fault. She herself created all this; Arnav never told her that he had any feelings for her. It was all her fault that she took his friendship as love.  She was happy that her life was back on track.

Two weeks later was their farewell. Kanishka knew that after farewell she won’t see or contact Arnav ever again in life and therefore she wanted this farewell to be memorable. She clicked as many photos as possible to keep them as a souvenir of their friendship, a souvenir of her love for Arnav beacuse this was the last memory of Kanishka and Arnav together.

"maan le tu aise, hain zara bhole se, jaante hai waise, hai nibhaani kaise, yaariyan, na chode yaariyan..."

The ringing of her phone brought Kanishka back to the present. It was a call from an unknown number, thinking it to be a call from Vodafone, she disconnected it. She checked the time, it was almost 4pm. She hadn't realized that so much time had passed. Just then the doorbell rang startling her. She opened the door but didn't find anyone. She was about to go inside when she saw a small bouquet of orchids and a card. She picked them up and went inside smiling.

She opened the card
"Happy Anniversary Tashu.
 I love you...”

Orchids were her favorite flowers and only Vikrant knew that. Today was their 2nd marriage anniversary and while going to the office Vikrant had told her to be ready for a surprise.

"I love you and your surprise Mr. Vikrant Sharma", she smiled to herself.

She dialed his number as re-read the card. She froze.

Had she seen it right? But how can that be possible?

Vikrant had addressed her as Tashu...
But how come he knew this name? Arnav had given her this name.

She remembered their conversation

"Why do you call me Tashu instead of Kanishka?”, she asked.
"Your name is too long, and m too lazy to call you by such a long name!”, he joked.
"So you can give me some nick name, Mr. Lazy", she said.
"That's why I call you Tashu pagal", he replied.
"But why Tashu??" she argued.
"Because I love this name and it’s a secret between you and me. Only I will call you by this name, don't tell this to anyone, samjhi", he said.

Kanishka had never told this secret to anyone, not even Vikrant then how did he came to know about it?

Were those flowers sent by Arnav? How did he got to know her whereabouts?
She wasn't in contact with any of her college mates. No one knew where she was. Then how could Arnav send these flowers to her? Or was it Vikrant's prank?
Her mind was full of questions, but answers unknown. She was about to call Vikrant when her phone rang. It was the same unknown number.

Invincible Love

Prelude

Part 1

Eight years back...

It was the first day of her college and she being a reserved person was nervous. Infinite questions were going on in her mind, how will she interact with people? What will she talk about? How on earth is she gonna make friends at this place? Amidst all this nervousness and confusions she saw him, the guy who was going to stay in her mind and heart, for quite sometime or may be forever.

Arnav didn't fit into the "tall, dark and handsome guy" category but yes he was smart though he looked a bit studious and serious kind but when he smiled, Kanishka was left spellbound. It seemed as if all her nervousness suddenly disappeared. She felt stupid standing there and staring at a guy whom she doesn't even know! She regained her senses and rushed to her classes.

Gradually Arnav and Kanishka became friends. Though they never interacted much but even a small "hi" from Arnav was enough to make Kanishka's world go round. She didn't knew whether it was love or just another crush. Arnav was a good looking guy, a great combination of looks and brains. Almost all the girls of the college went gaga over him but all this didn't bother Kanishka because she knew he didn't like any of those girls. As time passed her feelings took a back seat. She was now in a relationship with her best friend Vikrant and Arnav too got committed to one of his classmates. But even after that Kanishka knew that she liked Arnav though she wasn't able to zero in what she actually felt. Both Kanishka and Arnav were happy in their respective relationships and she didn't want to spoil the lives and happiness of so many people that too when she herself wasn't sure of her feelings. She convinced herself that he was just one of her crushes and moved on.

The final year of college gave a new twist to their lives. Arnav broke up with his girlfriend while Kanishka fell more in love with Vikrant but the friendship between Kanishka and Arnav reached new heights. As time passed they became very good friends or so she thought.

Arnav was always there for her; helping her in problems, making her laugh when she even refused to smile, surprising her with gifts on her birthday but he didn't knew that with each of his acts he was making her fall for him, even harder than before. She started believing that Arnav also had feelings for her, feelings which were more than friendship. Kanishka tried to convince herself that whatever Arnav did or was doing was an act of friendship but her heart refused to listen. After trying for infinite times she let her feelings flow in the hope that with her college life her friendship with Arnav will also end and so will her feelings.
"Kanishka and Arnav are not meant to be together", she tried convincing herself.

Moreover she was in a relation with a guy who loved her very much, who never left her side, who always supported her, who was her best friend from the time when she didn't even understood the meaning of "friend", how could she even think of breaking his heart? She made up her mind that Vikrant is the one made for her and tried her level best to avoid Arnav but every time she looked at him, her heart ditched her and with each passing moment she fell more in love with him. She didn't know what to do. Should she tell Vikrant? But what would she say? That she is betraying him because she has fallen in love with a guy who doesn't have any feelings for her? Or should she stay quiet and spoil Vikrant's life?
